1-UP Mushroom: A green mushroom that gives you an extra life
Fire Flower: A flower that turns you into Fire Mario or Fire Luigi and allows you to throw fireballs
Super Star: A star that makes you invincible temporarily
Cape Feather: A feather that grants you a cape that allows you to glide while falling and fly by taking a short run-up
Power Balloon: A balloon that allows you to float for a short period of time
Yoshi's Wings: Wings that give Yoshi the ability to fly
Who was in charge of developing this marvel?
Takashi Tezuka directed and Shigeru Miyamoto produced the first Super Mario game for the SNES console. It was released in 1990 in Japan and later in the rest of the world. A new feature was Yoshi, the friendly dinosaur that allowed Mario to move at greater speeds through Dinosaur Land.
Miyamoto stated that since the production of the first Super Mario Bros., he had wanted to include a dinosaur that would be Mario's companion throughout the adventure.
Since its release, the game has become a best-seller with over 20 million copies sold worldwide. This game has undergone numerous updated versions for later Nintendo consoles, making it one of the best in the franchise and highly regarded by video game fans.
